Week 7 - Spiritual Complacency
Aug 10, 2025 • Clint Conner
Spiritual complacency creates a dangerous gap between our outward appearance and inner reality, as seen in the church of Sardis who had a reputation for being alive but was spiritually dead. Like the city of Sardis that fell to enemies when guards grew complacent, the church had let its spiritual defenses down. Jesus commands them to wake up, be alert, and strengthen what remains through remembering the gospel, keeping what they've received, and repenting. Though most had grown complacent, Jesus acknowledges the faithful few who would walk with Him in white, reminding us that consistent, daily obedience matters for eternity.
