Faith Works | Week 12

James here is now addressing a topic of most importance. His subject matter is faith. It is one of the most foundational doctrines in our Christian lives. Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV - (8) For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; [it is] the gift of God, (9) not of works, lest anyone should boast. We as sinners, if we have started following Jesus, were saved by faith. 2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV - (7) For we walk by faith, not by sight. Jesus followers must walk by faith and Romans 1:17 NKJV - (17) For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith." Romans 14:23 NKJV - (23) But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because [he does] not [eat] from faith; for whatever [is] not from faith is sin. Anything that is not from faith is sin. Let’s let that sink in for a minute. Now hear this statement made by Warren Wiersbe, “Faith is not some kind of nebulous feeling that we work up; faith is confidence that God’s word is true and conviction that acting on that Word will bring His blessing.”
