Our Direction In Life
Are we truly walking in the light, or are we just saying the right words? In this sermon, we dive into 1 John to uncover three obstacles that can deceive us in our faith:
🔹 Words – Saying we have fellowship with God doesn’t make it true (1 John 1:6).
🔹 Self-Deception – Believing we have no sin leads us astray (1 John 1:8).
🔹 No Sin Nonsense Thinking – Calling God a liar by denying our sin (1 John 1:10).
John writes with both love and urgency, reminding us that grace isn’t a license to sin. We are called to:
✅ Be honest about our sin.
✅ Stay close to the Savior.
✅ Get real about the direction of our lives.
✅ Confess and turn away from sin before we waste our lives in it.
The good news? We have an advocate—Jesus Christ the Righteous—who stands in our defense (1 John 2:1-2). His grace is costly, not cheap, and He calls us to live transformed lives, glorifying God in all we do (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
Are you walking in the light today? Are you forgiven? Are you justified? Let’s examine our hearts and walk in the truth.
