Responding To God's Word

The journey of obedience requires us to be more than just hearers of God's Word—we must be doers. James 1:16-27 teaches that true faith always results in a changed life reflected through our actions. To properly receive God's Word, we need humility and must be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. When we merely hear Scripture without acting on it, we deceive ourselves, like someone who glances in a mirror and immediately forgets what they look like. Authentic faith transforms our speech, leads to acts of charity, and keeps us unstained from worldly influences.
